True ToLife Bassist Mike Porter at Masterclass by Master Bassist Extraordinaire Sharay Reed. Held 2/9/19 at Fluency 34, hosted by my friends Kristin Bidwell and Joey Lauricella from custom bass luthiers/ manufacturers ,Fodera Guitars . —————————— 2/10/19 Hey Sharay: It ‘s Mike Porter ..found@ video galleries of truetolifejazz.com It was a pleasure meeting u today at your Masterclass hosted by my friends Kristin Bidwell of Fluency 34 and Joey Lauricella from Fodera. Glad I got there early to get my front row seat cuz it was standing room only!! I really enjoyed your Master class & was truly inspired by how u have “studied to show yourself approved “& God has “brought your gift before great men” (women). You fielded some great questions . Additionally Thanks for teaching some in the class & reinforcing to others the path for greatness is forged in the study (playing & consistently rehearsing & developing your skills )in preparation of your artistry so when we touch our instruments after the necessary study, the confidence will be a result of the preparation and reflect in our playing. You taught us at the time of the performance , we should only look towards adding different enhancement elements & color to the song that we already know (inside & out, back & forward)through the time spent in preparation. Thanks for also sharing your personal on tour experiences with The The Great artists you’ve worked with. Those are priceless . As you know I already sent the picture we took to my Son Corey. He hit me back yesterday and is glad we hooked up. I told him the story I told u before your class started. I’ll never forget we have something in common other that knowing Corey.. It’s our greatest admiration , respect cand inspiration from Master Bassist Extraordinaire/ Bass Living Legend & Bassist trendsetter ,Who I respectfully call “The Hit Maker”Anthony Jackson. You truly showed homage to him by starting your class with & ending your class with songs he helped make famous on the Chaka Khan “Clouds” album. Looking forward to staying in touch. Hit me up on messenger and you have my wife’s email also. Let me know the next time you are in NY. God Bless u Mike Porter
